Pink
In 2009 it’s difficult to find a female in the music industry who is a “normal” woman with attitude and courage to stand up saying, this is who I am, deal with it!!”
Pink’s Funhouse exposes emotions with honest lyrics. On her website she says, “This is my most vulnerable album to date,” The album deals with heartbreak, anger and honesty with the style that Pink is known for: loud and proud. With a perfect mix of pop and rock, Funhouse is actually fun to listen to.
So What is one of the songs that are comical as well as full of punch. The fact that one lyric says ”You’re a tool” won me over when I heard it on radio. I’m sure that line is a favourite for many people.
The second single Sober has a strong beat (maybe portraying a headache from a hangover). There are some softer songs like the heartbreaking I Don’t Believe You which consists of strings and Pink’s husky vocals.
Unlike most pop, Pink’s music and lyrics are unpredictable and unique. Pink has a worldly conscious and this is heard in Ave Mary A which is about living in a troubled world and needing some devine help. Glitter In The Air is a pretty song that you find yourself drifting away to.
Funhouse gets three and a half frangipanis from me and I can’t wait until we see the concert in June.
