Dance, cry, laugh listening to Darren Hayes
May 31st 2008 11:13
This album wasn’t well-received in Australia, in fact I had to wait some weeks for my copy to arrived after being ordered.
The Tension and The Spark was Darren’s second solo album after his hugely partnership of Savage Garden. The album bares honesty and certainly goes to some dark places with songs like Unlovable and Void, but still has Darren’s cheekiness and Aussie sense-of-humour with Popular. Apparently America didn’t understand that the message in Popular (ie: sleeping with important people to gain success) was only a joke!
Darren’s work is always like poetry masterpieces to me. They are emotionally crafted as if you’re turning pages of a book.
The Tension and The Spark is definitely worth a listen.
