A mind-awakening album

The Distance To Here
Live
I have no shame in taking advantage of all the hype about Youth Day (I’m not religious at all!) my mind takes me back to the time when Mum introduced me to the band Live and their mind-awakening album The Distance To Here.
This album literally changed my life for the better. Ed Kowalczyk’s lyrics spoke to me and pulled me back from taking a dangerous path of guilt and crazy thoughts. It was after that when I discovered the beauty of John Lennon too, hence I started writing poetry.
On The Distance To Here the track Where The Fishes Go is a sublime song about discovering God in different ways, and how He would be exactly or nothing like you. You have to crank the volume up to get the total experience of the song.
The Distance To Here bore the hits The Dolphin’s Cry (which is about having sex on the beach…true!), Run To The Water and They Stood Up For Love (another personal favourite from the album).
Seeing Live live in concert is just awesome. It’s like going to a non-denominational church service on steroids! The arena fills with love and unity and for those couple of hours the world is full of hope. You’re left feeling like we can make the world a better place.
