Rod Laver Arena
Maroon 5 played to a packed Rod Laver Arena last night as part of their It Won’t Be Soon Before Long Australian Tour and they certainly wooed their fans with a one hour and twenty minutes show.
Adam Levine (lead vocals) charmed the Melbourne crowd with jokes and eye contact with female fans. As he admitted, “our audiences usually are mainly female” so seeing men in the crowd last night made him feel uneasy spotting a girl to flirt with. However, during one of their hit songs he urged the males in the audience to make their presence known.
Later on Adam urged everyone to get their mobile phones out, with the lights dimmed so Rod Laver Arena sparkled. The act of unity was an amazing and unforgettable sight.
From their latest album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long the band played all their hits such as, Wake Up Call, Makes Me Wonder and the latest release Won’t Go Home Without You. From their hugely successful debut album Songs About Jane the crowd sang along to This Love, Harder To Breathe, Sunday Morning and the sing-along favourite She Will Be Loved.
The support acts were the singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile and the chart successful group OneRepublic who played songs that are on their Myspace as well as their hits Stop and Stare and Apologise.
