A Night Of Blues With Eric Clapton

My parents have been big fans of the master of guitars since the 70’s so I grew up listening to Eric Clapton. We were really looking forward to the night and were eager to hear all his classics.
Eric and his very talented band only played a handful of the classics that made him a legend. The crowd didn’t respond well to his blues tracks, but watching and hearing him play was an experience that left you in awe. I wish I could remember the name of his sidekick who also played guitar and sung; to play like he did beside Eric got our admiration. Eric’s keyboardist was magical as well. At one point he was playing the keyboard so fast that I saw people shaking their heads in disbelief.
The crowd livened up when Eric did the 70’s hit Cocaine. Soon after the crowd loved hearing one of his biggest hits Layla.
Unfortunately there were plenty of visible empty seats which spoiled the atmosphere. Eric hardly communicated with the crowd and the lack of known songs made everyone just sit and listen very subdue.
Don’t get me wrong, it was an enjoyable evening and Eric is such a legend but it didn’t have the crowd going crazy.

and i was really hoping there would be more Cream songs . . . i guess there wouldve been more die-hard fans who had bought every album he ever released and were familiar with all the solo blues songs, but alas im a radio fan with my only purchase being a Best Of Cream
im glad i saw him play guitar though, he really is a master
