E Street Band Loses a Beloved Member

It’s been a slow and boring month for music! Last night I perused the iTunes store and there was nothing that stood out. Although I discovered some sad news about a member of The E Street Band. The band have been Bruce Springsteen’s very tight-knitted musical family for an amazing forty years.
Danny Federici who was the keyboardist of the E Street Band lost his three-year battle with melanoma in April. Just a month before his death, he played with the band as part of their current tour.
On his website Bruce stated, “Danny and I worked together for 40 years — he was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much ... we grew up together.”
Danny was a young 58.
