Alicia Sometimes

Alicia Sometimes (yes that’s her real name!!) is one cool chic. I was extremely lucky to be one of her poetry students at Tafe. The fact that she doesn’t like to use rhyme made her a rebel poet in my eyes.
As well as a poet, Alicia is a broadcaster on the radio station RRR where she and Steve Grimwade host Aural Text every Wednesday from 12pm. Also she is a band called The Three Sixties playing the bass and on vocals. You can listen to The Three Sixties’ tracks on Really Long Link
Alicia is so good at spoken word; words slip and slide off her tongue. On her Myspace page Really Long Link she has four musical treats that visitors can listen to. Good I Can Be is sexy jazzy spoken word piece that is about all the things that she considers love is. Never taking life seriously Astra’s Song is a track that has a child on vocals who sounds really cheeky. They even throw in blurting a few raspberries during the song. Crime Wave and The Amp and The Pretty Kitties reflect Alicia’s quirky personality, taking social issues and adding her view on things.
