The Fumes
My sincere apology for missing last week’s edition of Gigs ‘n Reviews’ Weekly Myspace Discovery! Been sending out interviews for future editions including an interview with Dallas Frasca, so I hope you don’t mind.
If you have watched Rage a few months ago you would have seen The Fumes’ video for Python For A Pillow, which in my humble opinion is one very cool sounding song.
If you go to their Myspace your ears will have a treat with rock that gets your feet moving.
All of their tracks on Myspace have a dirty rock ‘n roll element to them. Personally I love this sound; it’s like a strong coffee, waking up your senses. The first track Who Do You Love definitely wakes you up and gets you pumped. High City Lights is more easy-going as it’s a story about girl going through life with dreams. It has a good drum beat and great rock voice adding character and texture to the song. Actually the lead vocals Steve Merry sounds very much like Kenny Wayne Shepherd. (What happened to Kenny??? Anyone???)
As I mentioned before Python For A Pillow was released as a single earlier this year. The slide guitar sounds awesome in this track and the whole track is how rock should be like.
The tracks Cuddle Up The Devil, Rogue River Woman, Rogue River Woman, Automobile and Run To The Mother are all inviting and you’re left craving for more.
The Fumes are currently doing some shows over in the States but will be back in November.
